But it has not just been the arm that has been troubling Hudson as he also contracted an MRSA-type bug through cuts on the top of his head from his last bout – a points defeat to Nathan Ward in December.

He said: "I got a bad infection from those cuts and it took me about six weeks to get over it. That really knocked me for six."

My dog contracted mrsa after being spayed. She was only six months old. She has made a full recovery but only because I was persistant when she started to limp. They said it was probably a pulled muscle but I asked for an xray. They found fluid on the knee when tested proved to be mrsa. She was then treated with double antibiotics, antinflamitories, and a bone building drug. The veternary surgery even charged me for everything to cure her. She seems to have made a full recovery but went through a awful time for such a young puppy. Being young and healthy is probably why she got over it.
