Byotrol, the Manchester based biocide technology company that last year announced it had developed a new class of biocide that can combat the spread of a broad spectrum of micro-organisms and bacteria including MRSA, E. coli, Legionella, and Listeria is looking to raise more than GBP 2M through a listing on London’s Alternative Investment Market.

The company is looking to make its debut on AIM in early summer and it is believed that the listing will capitalise the company in excess of GBP 10M. The company’s goal is to launch its products as ingredient brands that can be used across a number of market sectors including healthcare, food processing and industry

The announcement comes at a time when concerns over food hygiene and standards of cleanliness in hospitals are at an all time high and with the newly elected government putting cleanliness in hospitals high on its agenda, Byotrol believes products based upon its technology can play a significant role in addressing this issue.

The company is looking to claim a significant share of the biocide market which is currently worth more than $5bn globally for the production of concentrates alone.
