Infectious disease experts are calling on the federal government to reverse funding cuts to help fight "one of the biggest bacterial threats against mankind".
Experts from around the world gathered in Cairns this week to work together on resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), more commonly known as the superbug.
However Australian MRSA’s experts are complaining about the federal government’s decision two weeks ago to cut funding for the 32 laboratories fighting the potentially fatal bacteria-caused disease.
