A NEW strain of the killer superbug MRSA has been discovered in the Outer Hebrides. Experts yesterday confirmed the hospital virus – to be known as the Hebridean strain – is unique to the Western Isles. High hygiene standards make the islands a low-risk area for the antibiotic-resistant bug.
