Elkhart Indiana based Sports-O-Zone USA provides a revolutionary patented equipment sanitation system to the Super Bowl bound Indianapolis Colts. The company manufactures a machine that offers a solution to control the problem of Staph and MRSA that is plaguing the NFL.
Elkhart, Ind. (PRWeb) February 3, 2007 — Elkhart, Indiana based Sports-O-Zone has ties back to Super Bowl XLI. The company Manufactures a machine that is fast becoming a solution to the problem of controlling Staph and MRSA that is plaguing the NFL. The Indianapolis Colts are one of seven NFL teams that are using this the patented system in their locker rooms to kill these bacteria on player’s equipment.
I am glad tat we are able to bring this technology to the NFL and we as a group are confident that the system will provide the necessary assurance to that industry to protect its athletes from harmful bacteria
MRSA, a staph bacterium, is usually resistant to a variety of different antibiotics and is becoming more common with athletes from high school to professional sports. Independent testing of the Sports-O-Zone system have shown that after eleven minutes of treatment, greater that 99.9% of these bacteria are killed. The San Francisco 49ers, requested organism swab test be performed on equipment worn by their team members during their August 2006 training camp.
"The Sports-O-Zone sanitizing unit performed to our expectations and gave us the confidence that this unit assists in our risk management control of organisms. Our job is to keep our players healthy and on the field which make this system a valuable asset for the 49ers," stated Steve Urbaniak, equipment manager for the San Francisco 49er’s.

Attention: Infection Control, I.C.U., E.D., Oncology, Respiratory, Patient Wards.
When dealing with a staff infection or any respiratory infectious disease (TB, SARS, Avian Flu etc) it is vital that the patient is isolated from other patients and staff to minimize the cross transmission of the disease. The typical method of doing this is to place the patient in a negative pressure environment. There are a number of problems with this approach:
1: Room decontamination after use becomes a major problem as standard hospital cleaning protocols cannot adequately address all areas in an efficacious manner.
2: Negative pressure rooms are usually filtered but the exhaust air is still contaminated.
To resolve the above issues: ensure the exhausted air is 100% uncontaminated and minimize the potential for room contamination by isolating the patient not the room.
The AI 77 is easily setup and converts any existing room or space into a patient isolation zone and within minutes provides complete protection from all airborne infectious disease. The system captures, contains and neutralizes the patient exhausted air rendering it safe. The AI 77 can safely recycle the air back into the patient room without concern of cross contaminating other patients or staff.
The main features of this technology are:
Complete air change in the Patient isolation zone every 6 seconds
No external ventilation required
Protects hospital staff from exposure to aerosolized infectious droplets
Room decontamination is reduced to cleaning just the patient hood area
Surpasses CDC guidelines for infectious isolation requirements
Meets and exceeds all existing and proposed OSHA standards
FDA Class II medical device
The AI 77 has multiple applications and can be used to augment other operational units within a hospital environment – Broncoscopy suites, Emergency departments, Dialysis Units, AIDS wards etc.
Our PASS line of products has the ability to augment current negative air pressure rooms thus ensuring exhausted air is not contaminated. The PASS line of products can be fixed in location (Institutional models) or used as portable air scrubbing systems (HAZMAT). All systems use the same patented air management process to capture, contain and neutralize airborne pathogens (virus, bacteria, mould etc) and render an environment safe for staff, first responder and emergency service workers. Our technology is currently deployed in major hospitals, prisons, EMS, EMAT and NOHERT applications.
