"As far as we know, they’ve followed the state recommendations on MRSA infection control," Amarillo Public Health Director Matt Richardson said Tuesday. "We don’t have any specific recommendations that they haven’t already done."
Canyon Independent School District spokeswoman Laurie Cizon said this is the first MRSA case the school district has identified in one of its schools.
Desks, drinking fountains, doorknobs, locker rooms and restrooms were disinfected at Westover. Hallways were cleaned last week to combat the flu.
